Mindfulness Network at UF
UF Mindfulness collaborates with several other groups, centers, and units that are engaged in mindfulness, health, well-being, and spirituality at the University of Florida.
UF Center for Spirituality and Health (CSH)
The CSH in the Medical School vision is to promote the study of the human experience of faith, belief, and spiritual knowledge in relation to health at the individual and community levels. The CSH offers courses and a certificate program in Spirituality & Health.
UF Counseling and Wellness Center (CWC)
The UF CWC provides individual and couples counseling, therapists support, crisis and emergency services, alcohol and other drug abuse services, psychiatry expertise, groups and workshops, self-help resources (e.g., anxiety, stress, apps), training programs, and more.
GatorWell Health and Promotion Services
GatorWell uses health promotion strategies to educate UF students about health and wellness topics relevant to the college experience. These strategies include health-related individual services, programming, advocacy, and assessment. GatorWell offers KORU mindfulness training to students. Students can meet with a health educator for the following one-on-one services: Wellness Coaching for Academic Success, HIV Testing, requesting health presentations and tabling outreach.
UF Human Resource Services
UF HR is committed to support wellness for staff and faculty at UF. The Wellness Wednesday seminar/workshop series offers education on a broad range of wellness topics, including mindfulness (recordings are available). Various training courses are offered on a variety of topics including mindfulness.
Mindfulness meditation, yoga, and wellness courses, trainings, resources, and more are offered by UF Wellness, College of Medicine. Spiritual wellness resources are provided by GatorCare, UF & Health. Arts in Medicine, UF Health Shands offers employees wellness programming such as dance, art, weekly wellness classes, writing workshops, and more.
UF Health, Integrative Medicine
Integrative Medicine at UF Health offers various workshops and classes in mindfulness practices. Integrative medicine brings together practices once-considered “alternative” medicine, combining those with the latest research and medical technology, to foster the connection between the mind, body and spirit that is often missing in conventional medicine. Integrative medicine is an approach to care that puts the patient at the center and addresses the full range of physical, emotional, mental, social, spiritual and environmental influences that affect a person’s health.
UF Health, Department of Psychiatry
The Department of Psychiatry in the College of Medicine offers Mindful Relaxation Minutes and various faculty members are engaged in mind-body research and training.
UF Department of Religion
The Department of Religion in the College of Liberal Arts offers courses in Buddhist meditation, consciousness and mind.
UF REC SPORTS
REC Sports offers fitness and wellness classes, among them vinyasa yoga, power yoga, total body workout.
